Kristaps Porzingis as the Focal Point

Coach Hornacek has already set the record straight and wants to make Porzingis the focal point for this season ahead.

Given that Carmelo Anthony is traded, Porzingis has proved his worth to be the main option for the Knicks.

According to Basketball Reference, Porzingis had a historic rookie season. He was the first rookie in NBA history to score 1000-plus points, 500-plus rebounds, hit 75 or more three-pointers and block 100 or more shots.

Porzingis is on his way to an all-star career. All he needs is the keys to the kingdom and he will be the next all-star forward to average over 20 ppg and 10 rpg.

Next: Knicks sign Nigel Hayes

This past season, Porzingis’ minutes went up from 28 per game to 32 per game. Once he sees the minutes he deserves and receives more touches, he will be an all-star caliber player year after year.
