The Buffalo Bills have not made the NFL Playoffs since the 1999 season. They currently have the longest playoff drought in North American sports. Until the Bills kick off the season on September 10th, let’s cover some of the best and worst things about the Bills during the drought. We’ll conclude our weekly series with the top Bills Moments during the last 17 seasons.

Kevin Everett Overcomes His Injury

As he laid on the field motionless, the game was no longer the central focus.

Everyone in Ralph Wilson Stadium and watching at home knew it was really, really bad.

The aftermath of the hit, however, is heart warming.

The heartbreaking loss to the Denver Broncos that day was no longer even an issue, it was an afterthought.

We know football players risk their health for the love of the game and our entertainment. But seeing Kevin Everett lay motionless on the ground, was too much.

In 2007, just a few months later, he walked on the same field that he “got paralyzed” on.

From a life threatening injury to walking in just a few short months, the recovery was remarkable.

The moment he took those steps, it became one of the most positive things Bills fans have ever seen, let alone during the drought.

What a moment. A man gets his legs back.
