In the third game of the four-game series, the Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound. The Red Sox will be sending Drew Pomeranz to the mound to take on the Yanks.

Pomeranz is having one of the best seasons of his career with a 14-4 record and a 3.23 ERA. When Pomeranz steps on the mound against the Yankees, New York generally scores a good amount of runs but their pitching just takes a big hit.

Pomeranz has pitched in four games against the Yankees and in those four games, the Yankees have scored a total of nine runs off of him. You would think the Yankees would have won most or all of those games with those numbers, but they did not win a single one of them.

When Pomeranz has taken the mound against New York, however, the Yankees pitchers have let up a total of 29 runs. 29 runs in four games. That should not happen. If Masahiro Tanaka can step up against the Red Sox, he should get a good amount of help from the offense and the Yankees should win this game.

Masahiro Tanaka has gone up against the Red Sox three times this season and has a 1-2 record. In his sole win against Boston this year, the Yankees won 3-0 against their rival. However, in his other two games, Tanaka let up a total of eight earned runs.

The Bombers should have no problem scoring runs off of Pomeranz Saturday afternoon but the problem is going to be stopping Boston from scoring. If Tanaka can step up and have a good game, the Yankees should win Saturday afternoon.

Saturday Afternoon Prediction: Red Sox win 4-3
