The Curse of Billy The Buffalo

The story is simple.

The Bills made the playoffs in 1999 after having the best defense in football, they lost to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card Game (we will get to that) and they went into the 2000 season needing  a boost after a bad loss.

Well, they thought a big blue friendly looking “buffalo” was the answer.

At the time no one knew how bad things were about to get.

Debuting in the early 2000 season, “Billy the Buffalo” made his first appearance.

A harmless mascot to make everyone happy, at least that was the intention.

That is not the case and it did not take long for The BIlls Mafia to realize it.

Put the pieces together.

It started off as a three, four year drought, and a normal rebuild.

As the drought piles up to longer and longer, it is not hard to see why.

Billy debuts in 2000 and the Bills have been to the playoffs zero times since.

I think it is time to ditch the “mascot” and win some football games?
