“The Boss”
The only non-player on this list. Famously outspoken owner George Steinbrenner will always be synonymous with The New York Yankees. Seven Rings under his watch and a legacy for the ages. The kinda-too-big plaque of himself in the Yankee Stadium outfield is a reminder that he will always be larger than life.
ORIGIN: Because of his hands-on approach to everything, this nickname was given somewhat tongue in cheek but evolved into an endearing title.
