“The Yankee Clipper” and  “Joltin Joe”

Trying not to be too Yankee heavy, but there’s just too many great ones!  Joe DiMaggio was pimpin’ the ladies and the game back in the day.  Want to talk star power?  How about a .325 lifetime average, the #unbreakable 56-game hit streak, nine rings, married Marilyn Monroe, immortalized in a Simon and Garfunkel song, the face of Mr. Coffee, and they renamed the entire west side highway after him.  And oh yeah, he served three years in the Air Force during his prime.

ORIGIN: “Joltin'” because he gave the ball a Jolt and “Clipper” because he covered so much ground in the outfield like the Pan-Am “Clippers” luxury airliners.  “I would like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee”….indeed.
