“The Iron Horse”

Do we really need to discuss the legend that is Lou Gehrig? Six Rings, a Triple Crown, two MVPs, .340 career BA, and the most epic speech in the history of speeches.  A great sign of Gehrig’s legacy came when he was the leading vote-getter on the MLB All-Century team chosen by fans in 1999, 58 years after his death.

ORIGIN: Obviously given this nickname for his durability that led to the then-record 2,130 straight games played streak.

P.S. I know this list isn’t in rank order, but if it was this would probably be #1.
