“Whitey” and “The Chairman of the Board”

Drinking buddies with Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin and the best winning percentage of all-time, not too shabby.  Whitey Ford still holds the record for most wins as a Yankee and the record for most cover-ups for Mantle’s behavior.  Edward Ford won ten world series games and lost another eight. That’s bonkers.

ORIGIN: Whitey because he had light hair as a child and Elston Howard named him Chairman of the Board because he was always winning.
