The Yankees are in the heat of a division race with the Red Sox. There is time in the season, but is it too late for the Bombers to catch them?

No, no it isn’t, but it’s getting REALLY tough.
After dropping that last game in Boston, the AL East become such a daunting mountain to climb, but it isn’t impossible.
The only way that they can catch the Sox is if they are still within grasp when they play each other. The MLB is a league where you can’t rely on others to get the job done, but the Yankees need that to happen.
The Red Sox play the Cleveland Indians twice this week, but other than that, their schedule isn’t difficult.
