New York Giants 2017 Roster Preview: Cornerbacks
By Sean Dyer
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been a consistent playmaker over his nine-year career. Between the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants, DRC has started 114 of 138 games played, averaging 43 total tackles and just over three interceptions per season.
Despite being one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL and having one of the bigger contracts on the Giants, DRC was moved from his starting corner position into the nickel role in favor of rookie Eli Apple.
This could have ended his Giants career if DRC had gotten upset and shut down. Instead, Rodgers-Cromartie took his nickel corner assignment in stride and covered the slot better than just about anyone in the league.
Rodgers-Cromartie turned six interceptions and 21 pass breakups into a second-team All-Pro season.
DRC will man the slot again for Big Blue in 2017 and if he can pick up where he left off, the New York Giants cornerback trio can be one of the best in the NFL.
