New York Giants 2017 Roster Preview: Linebackers

MLB Keenan Robinson
Keenan Robinson‘s career with the Washington Redskins was derailed by injuries. Robinson missed the entire 2013 season with a torn left pectoral and missed parts of 2014 and 2015 with knee and shoulder injuries.
When he was on the field, however, Robinson was productive. His best year came in 2014 when he started 13 games and recorded 109 total tackles.
Tired of his injury history, Washington let Robinson walk in free agency after the 2015 season. The New York Giants would eventually sign him to a one-year, $2.6 million prove-it deal.
Robinson certainly proved it, recording 83 total tackles and seven pass breakups. Due to the Giants rotating four guys into three linebacker spots in 2016, Robinson made just six starts but saw extended action in all 16 games.
Robinson’s play earned him another one-year deal with Big Blue, this time for $3 million. Keenan Robinson is the Giants best linebacker when it comes to pass coverage so he should expect to see plenty of work on passing downs.
Personally, I am a big fan of Keenan Robinson. I love his coverage ability and think he’s a solid tackler and good leader. I thought he was an underrated signing last year and I’m glad the Giants brought him back for this season.
Robinson said he left money on the table from other teams to return to New York, knowing that the Giants defense had a good thing going. Hopefully, his move pays off and Keenan Robinson helps take this Giants defense to the next level.
