Avery Moss and Devin Taylor

Avery Moss was the Giants fifth round pick this year and will likely see most of his action on special teams.

Moss has plenty of pass rushing ability and started his college career at Nebraska before ending up at Youngstown State due to an off-field incident.

If Moss can get his character concerns under control, he could eventually develop into a solid NFL pass rusher. Best case scenario for this year, Moss earns his way into a situational pass rusher role by mid-season.

After he started 16 games for the Detroit Lions last season and produced 11.5 sacks over the past two years, the Giants were somehow able to sign Devin Taylor to a one-year, $815,000 deal late into this offseason.

At 6’8″ 270 lb., Taylor is a dominating presence. He’s had a nice offseason thus far, including an interception in New York’s preseason opener.

The Giants typically keep just five defensive ends on their 53-man roster but Devin Taylor has played too well to send him packing.

With 15.0 career sacks, Taylor has had a more productive pass rushing career than any defensive end on the roster not named Olivier Vernon or Jason Pierre-Paul.
