Live Nine-Inning Analysis of the third game of the Subway Series
8th Inning
Pitching Change Mets: Chasen Bradford
Bradford comes in for the Mets, and on his first pitch, Chase Headley lined a single the other way to left field.
Cooper would step up and he would strikeout on some high cheddar for the first out of the inning.
Torreyes stepping in behind Cooper would slap a single to right center, and that would be all for Chasen Bradford as the Mets turn to the bullpen once again.
Pitching Change Mets: Josh Smoker
The Mets would bring in left-hander Josh Smoker to face Gardner in the next at-bat. Smoker would inherit two runners from Bradford.
Gardner would tip the ball into the glove of Rivera for strike three of the at-bat. Two away for the Bronx Bombers in the top of the eighth.
Ellsbury would groundout to first to end the inning. The Yankees still lead 5-3.
Adam Warren would continue on the mound, and Lagares would lead things off with a push-bunt single.
The switch-hitting Cabrera would step in for the Mets.
He would strikeout looking at an inside pitch that would infuriate Asdrubal Cabrera, and Manager Terry Collins, but neither would face consequences.
Cespedes would come up and work a full count. He would fight off several pitches before striking out swinging on a breaking ball away.
Warren would then get Conforto to ground out to Torreyes at second to end the inning.
We head to the final stanza with the Yankees leading 5-3.
