Second Inning

The Yankees power belt would start off with a deep fly out courtesy of catcher Gary Sanchez.

Chase Headley merited a walk for the bombers that would set things up for newly acquired rookie, Garrett Cooper.

A curveball wild pitch would allow Headley to advance to second, and allow a set-the-table opportunity for Cooper with one out.

Rene Rivera got crossed up after Gsellman missed a sign. The Mets started striped a 94 MPH fastball, while Rivera looked for a breaker. The ball gets by the Mets plate-minder, and that allows Headley to advance to third with one down.

After a good at-bat by Cooper, he would groundout to deep third, but it would be good enough to drive in Headley from third.

Game tied 1-1.

That would bring up Ronald Torreyes with two down and no one on. He would loop a lazy pop-up to short, and Amed Rosario would bring it down to end the inning.

In the bottom half,  Travis d’Arnaud would lead things off for the Mets.

He would groundout to Gregorious at shortstop.

Amed Rosario grounded out to Ronald Torreyes at second.

Rookie Dominic Smith would come up with two down, and not do much with it.

He struck on an 0-2 breaking ball in the dirt to end the stanza.
