The Yankees are set to take on the Mets in the age-old Subway Series. This one is perhaps the biggest series in recent time for the Bronx Bombers.

Yankees baseball is taking a slight turn in recent times, but this week’s series is a point to get it back on track.

From the struggles of Aaron Judge, to the inconsistency of Aroldis Chapman, the second half is full of surprises for the Bronx Bombers.

Montgomery tossed a solid outing, and the team delivered against one of the best pitchers in the league.

If not for Chapman blowing it, the game would have been a big season momentum booster.

Now the Yankees need to pull off a series sweep against the Mets tonight. If they can do that, they take on the Red Sox next week in a huge bought for the AL East.

This series will test the Yanks, but it is important for them to win the set.

The Bronx Bombers have made a habit of losing to teams much lower than them in the standings in recent times. This could either be another example, or it could be the turn they need.

See, the Yankees struggles are so minimal, but they’re costing them games. Chapman gassed up Hanley Ramirez, and had Rafael Devers to a 1-2 count before screwing the pooch.

Even Judge is having good at-bats, he just keeps chasing the high fastball.

The pieces are right there, but there are just a few kinks, and the Mets are the team to work them out.

Make no mistake, this a big series for the boys in Pinstripes. They’ll have to get four big wins to keep tight with the Sox before this weekend’s series.
