New York Giants 2017 Roster Preview: Wide Receivers
By Sean Dyer
Dwayne Harris
As good as the Giants top trio of wide receivers are, they’ll need some reserve receivers who can give the starters a breather. However, while Beckham Jr., Marshall, and Shepard are doing their thing, the backup wideouts will be contributing on special teams.
Dwayne Harris has been a standout special teamer his entire career. He even made the Pro Bowl last year for his work on special teams.
The former Dallas Cowboy struggled to return kickoffs and punts last year, but the issues are thought to be due to nagging injuries that Harris collected throughout the season.
Despite playing through pain, Harris led the Giants in special teams tackles and downed multiple Brad Wing punts inside the five-yard line.
Although Dwayne Harris’ work as a gunner does not justify his contract, the hope is that he can stay healthy and return kickoffs and punts like he used to.
