Buffalo Bills Drought Series: Best Bills Players
There is no doubt that “Freddy” should be on this list.
Fred Jackson had a rather difficult path to the NFL. Going un-drafted out of Coe College in 2003 it would take Jackson three years before he found his way on the Buffalo roster.
After a stint with the Rhein Fire of the old NFL Europe, the Bills gave him a chance in 2007.
Jackson would end up playing eight seasons for Buffalo (2007-2014).
Jackson quietly trucked his way to become the Bills third all time leading rusher. Behind only Hall of Famers OJ Simpson and Thurman Thomas.
He also rushed for 1,000 yards and returned kickoffs for 1,000 yards in the 2009 season, becoming the first NFL player ever to do so.
But Freddy’s off the field moves like his charities and openly showing how much his family loved Buffalo mixed with his talent was a quick way to win over all the fans.
The Bills parted ways with Jackson in 2015, although he was blindsided by the move he was finally able to play in a playoff game with the Seahawks in 2015.
“Freddy ” is definitely a player that all Bills diehards will remember for quite some time.
