Jacob Huesman and Shane Smith

These two young men are battling to be the top fullback for the Giants. But does the top fullback even have a spot on New York’s roster?

Jacob Huesman was a college quarterback who when undrafted in 2016 and spent time in the CFL last season.

Huesman also tried out at safety for the Giants last year. The kid will do anything for a shot in the NFL.

His love for the game is admirable and Huesman will likely be the guy if the Gmen keep a fullback. He was recently listed as the first-team fullback on the Giants unofficial depth chart.

Shane Smith is a rookie undrafted free agent out of San Jose State.

Smith was not much more than a blocker in college, rarely touching the ball for the Spartans.

Shane Smith has, perhaps, one of the biggest uphill battles of anyone in the NFL. He appears to be second in line for a product that may already be sold out.
