Josh McCown

Josh McCown is entering his 15th year in the league and the New York Jets will be his eighth NFL team.

McCown has essentially been a career backup QB but has 60 starts under his belt due to injuries to the starting quarterbacks ahead of him and the Cleveland Browns being…well…the Cleveland Browns.

The Jets brought in McCown to replace Ryan Fitzpatrick and provide veteran leadership to a QB room that is otherwise very young and inexperienced.

McCown won’t blow anyone away with his numbers. In the 82 games he’s appeared in over his career, he has 79 touchdowns and 69 interceptions.

The 38-year-old journeyman also has an extended injury history. In just the last three seasons, McCown has missed time with injuries to his right thumb, ribs, and both shoulders, as well as a concussion and a broken clavicle.

Josh McCown may start the year as the starting quarterback for Gang Green. However, he’s here to help the young QBs along and will likely be replaced by one of them a few games into the season.
