The Draft Picks

In a draft where there was not a sure-fire first overall pick, maybe not selecting a player in the first round was a blessing in disguise for the Islanders.

However, they still made the most of their selections:

46th Overall – Defenseman Robin Salo

77th Overall – Defenseman Ben Mirageas

139th Overall – Defenseman Sebastian Aho (not the same young stud on the Carolina Hurricanes.)

165th Overall (Trade with LA) – Left Wing Arnaud Durandeau

201st Overall – Left Wing Logan Cockerill

Due to some of the previously mentioned trades, the Islanders will make more noise in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
