RP Tommy Kahnle, Chicago White Sox, Buy

Tommy Kahnle is easily the most overlooked player in this deal.

I understand David Robertson and Todd Frazier stealing the headlines, but Kahnle can really pitch.

Kahnle’s specialty is the strikeout. It’s always nice to have a guy that can get you out of a jam by missing bats.

Kahnle has 62 punch outs in 37 innings this season and has issued just seven free passes.

The 27-year-old has three more years of arbitration eligibility. Kahnle should be a big part of New York’s bullpen for the next few years as they contend for World Series titles.

Yankees fans got a preview of what Kahnle can do when he made his Yankee debut on Wednesday. The right-hander retired the side in order, striking out two.

Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances, and now David Robertson are in place to handle innings seven through nine, in some order. Tommy Kahnle will join Adam Warren and Chad Green in getting the ball from the starters to the back-end trio.
