The New York Giants Up the Depth Chart series continues. Today we talk about the running back situation, and who will hold down the backfield in 2017-18.

The New York Giants Up the Depth Chart saga continues today with a word about Big Blue’s backfield situation.

Ever since the loss of Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, the Giants continue to struggle finding someone to hold down the backfield.

After a long, and rather unimpressive stint from Rashad Jennings, New York is entering a new era with some young talent. The depth chart is deep at the running back position, but this isn’t just a list of who the Giants have on the roster.

This is a list of the most effective players the Giants can have at each position.

So as of now, Big Blue has seven running backs listed on the roster. That’s a ridiculous number, but it just means there will be a battle for the position.

Most teams like to go with a handcuff style offense nowadays. With the Giants fast-pace offense, there is a need for multiple backs.

There are a plethora of options, but who is going to hold it down in 2017-18? Let’s find out.
