The Yankee bullpen was supposed to be one of the team’s major guarantees heading into this season. After bringing back Arolid Chapman, it seemed as though the New York Yankees were untouchable.

Get the starters through six with a lead, and that is all she wrote… not so fast.

Continuing injuries and inconsistencies made for a shaky battle with the Yankee pen. Throughout these ups and downs, Green remained poised and consistent.

He posts a 1.75 ERA, with 49 strikeouts, and just 10 walks. His numbers are gaudy, and his actual pitching is fun to watch.

He has a very simple delivery, but he consistently clocks in at 96 MPH or higher. His location is absolutely sublime, and his secondary pitches are spectacular.

Green is without a doubt the hero of this bullpen, and it shows.

Joe Girardi said that he is going to make Green a one inning pitcher, and that makes a ton of sense. The way he comes in and dominate would be perfect as a one inning pitcher, but he can definitely go more if needed.
