As the 2017 MLB Home Run Derby participants start to get announced, the Yankees’ top two sluggers have said that they will be competing.

For weeks fans have been waiting for Aaron Judge to commit to the Home Run Derby.

The 6’7″ phenom finally announced that he will participate, and to make things even more exciting, he’s bringing along a teammate.

Gary Sánchez is joining Judge in Miami for the Derby. Both sluggers were also announced as All-Stars on Sunday.

Aaron Judge is a legitimate AL MVP candidate, leading the MLB with 27 home runs, despite being a rookie.

As for Sánchez, he has followed up his breakout 2016, where he hit 20 homers in 53 games, with 13 long balls in 51 games so far this year.

Gary Sánchez missed about a month of the season with a bicep injury. Despite missed time, Sánchez has the second most home runs among catchers.

The rest of the field, so far, is Giancarlo Stanton, Cody Bellinger, Miguel Sanó, and Justin Bour.

The Marlins’ Stanton is the defending champion of this event and has 21 HR this year. He will also be defending his title in his home park.

Bellinger is the National League version of Aaron Judge. The Dodgers’ rookie sensation leads the NL with 24 home runs.

Twins’ slugger Miguel Sanó has a ton of power with 20 homers this year. He will look to avenge his near miss of starting at third base for the American League in the All-Star Game.

Another Miami Marlin, Justin Bour will also be hitting in his home stadium. Bour has hit 18 home runs in 2017.

Two spots still remain in this competition, with the slots likely to be filled in the next few days.

As their individual leagues’ home run leaders, Judge and Bellinger should be considered the favorites. You also can’t count out defending champ Stanton in his home ballpark.
