SP Luis Severino

5-3, 3.15 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 94.1 IP, 107 K, 24 BB, 2.6 WAR

Severino has been the ace that Yankee fans expected Masahiro Tanaka to be.

The right-hander’s record is not indicative to how well he’s pitched. Severino has had multiple leads blown by the Yankee bullpen.

His ERA ranks sixth in the American League and his WHIP is fourth-best in the AL.

Sevy has pitched the eleventh most innings in the Junior Circuit and his 107 strikeouts are good for fourth-best in the AL.

Severino certainly helped his All-Star case with his last start Tuesday night, striking out a dozen in seven innings of one-run ball.

The best pitcher on the American League’s second-best team has a real good case for an All-Star spot.

All-Star Probability: 80%
