C Gary Sánchez

.285/.376/.536, 13 HR, 39 RBI, 2.0 WAR

Despite missing time with a bicep injury, Sánchez has been one of the best power-hitting catchers in baseball.

Kansas City’s Salvador Pérez is the only American League catcher with enough at-bats to qualify for the slash line leader boards, but Sánchez’s .285 batting average is currently one of the best for AL catchers.

Sánchez ranks second amongst American League catchers with 13 home runs and third amongst AL backstops with 39 RBIs.

Pérez ranks at the top of the AL catcher lists for batting average, home runs, and RBIs. He currently leads the fan vote and should end up as the American League starter behind the dish.

Sánchez is currently second in the fan vote and should get the nod as the AL backup catcher.

His only competition is former Yankee backstop, Brian McCann.

My bet is that Sánchez will beat out McCann and end up on the American League roster in a few weeks.

All-Star Probability: 85%
