The New York Giants took quarterback Davis Webb in the third round of this year. The California boy has something about him that is really likeable.

New York Giants third round draft pack Davis Webb has all the makings of a future NFL quarterback.

We haven’t seen the guy play a snap yet, but there’s something about him I really like.

Every quarterback has a style or a look about them that makes them an NFL guy. Look at some of the unique quarterbacks of this generation.

We’ve seen  game managers like Drew Brees, playmakers like Michael Vick, and of course winners like Tom Brady, but where does this guy Webb fit into the mold?

He’s just got that quarterback look.

Born and raised a Texas boy, Webb took his talents to Texas Tech. After two years he transferred to California to finish out the remainder of his career. Think about that mix for a second.

The blue collar blood of a Texas high school football player concocted with the West Coast playing style. That is like the Batman and Robin of quarterback products.

Now, I don’t want to get high on this guy too quickly. Sure he has the intangibles, but until he takes an NFL snap, he’s just a guy with the look.

That’s a good start, but I’m excited what this kid can prove in the preseason. Draft expert Mike Mayock has some high expectations as well.

"“Davis Webb’s got a live arm. He drops it in the bucket. Moves well enough, quick release, big arm. He’s one of the five quarterbacks where you can make a case in this draft that they can start a game in the NFL and be a quarterback.” — Mike Mayock"

Like I said, there’s just something I like about him. Call me crazy, but I really do believe he’s the future.
