Despite a hot start to 2017, Chase Headley’s best baseball seems to be behind him.

The past season and a half have been a struggle for Headley, both at the plate and in the field.

It’s hard to say he’s holding the Yankees back considering the success they’ve had this year. However, Brian Cashman may look to improve the production from the hot corner in order to make a run at a 28th World Series title.

The Yankees have a deep enough farm system to trade for a replacement. They can go for a rental player or one with multiple years left on his contract. They can also use that loaded farm system to promote a player from Triple-A to take Headley’s spot at third.

Gleyber Torres’ injury takes away one of the Yankees’ top choices, but he was not the only player capable of taking over for Headley.

I’ve detailed my top five options, but there are certainly many others.

Who do you want to see in pinstripes at the hot corner come October, Yankee fans?
