New York Giants: Perkins and Gallman are next Thunder and Lightning
New York Giants youthful runners Wayne Gallman and Paul Perkins are set to have a big year. If the O-Line improves, look for a big year out of the tandem.
The New York Giants did a great thing when they added Wayne Gallman in this year’s NFL Draft.
The savvy power runner out of Clemson is going to pair so nicely with rising star Paul Perkins. Perkins showed signs of greatness this past season, and he promises even more in 2017.
The run game is in need of some big improvements.
Giants fans, we all know how bad the offensive line is. It’s still rebuilding, and Jerry Reese really hasn’t done much to fix it.
When a team with wide receiving threats like the Giants can’t run, they just let it go. They’ll throw the ball 50-60 times a game, and it becomes common place.
I hate to say it, but look at the Patriots. Even a team with Tom Brady strives to run the ball down opponents’ throats week-in and week-out. That’s what the Giants have to get back to, and this tandem can do it.
Perkins is so dynamic. His cuts are smoother than butter, and his explosiveness is unrivaled. Gallman on the other hand is the power guy. Short yardage, and goal line situations, give this man the ball. He will do the job.

Enough of these shotgun sets in short yardage situations. Just power it down people’s throats.
If all goes well with this duo, it could be Bradshaw and Jacobs all over again.
They are also really young. They have bright futures ahead of them, and hopefully its all in blue. It would make for some excitement, and hopefully the line can go out and help these guys.
The Giants run game is in good hands with this dynamic duo, and it could be for many years to come.
