New York Yankees outfielders Aaron Judge and Brett Gardner are each having a great season. The two compliment each other really well, and need each other more than they realize.

New York Yankees fans are being treated to one of the best seasons in the team’s recent history.

Aaron Judge, to many people’s surprise, is raking this season. Last year he came on as a September call-up, and since then, he is becoming one of the Yankees best young talents.

On the other hand there is Brett Gardner. A career-long Yankee that, after a five-year struggle, is finally finding his swing.

The two are right at the top of the lineup when it comes to the major hitting statistics, and for some, tops in the league.

The rook and the vet might not realize it, but they need each other more than they know.

Judge takes some things from Gardner that he might not realize. By watching a veteran player go through a low, and find a high, helps a young guy through his own lows. It’s nice to have the comfort of a guy that’s been there before to help through the swells of a career.

For Gardner, the rise of Judge means he needs to fight for his job. The two may be friends, but they are also co-workers. The Yankees have a bevy of young outfield talent coming up, and Judge proves that.

By comparing himself to Judge, it allows Gardner to gauge where he stands in the outfield. He will have to keep up with the young gun’s success in order to keep his everyday spot in left field.

Whether they realize it or not, the outfield counterparts need each other to keep their success. As the season progresses it’ll be interesting to see how they continue to feed off of each other’s success.
