New York Giants near top of NFC East Power Rankings
By TJ Wengert
The New York Giants had a great offseason, but it wasn’t enough top put them atop this week’s Way Too Early NFC East Power Rankings.
The NFC East is often regarded as the best division in football due to how competitive it is every year, and this upcoming season will be no different. All four teams are playoff caliber teams and will be competitive inside and out of the division.
Another reason for the hype that surrounds the division is because of the wide spread following of all the teams in the division. The Cowboys and Giants have two of the largest fanbases in the league and it spreads across the nation, and Eagles and Redskins fans are no joke themselves. So the mass amounts of fans across the country creates rivalries that stretch from coast to coast.
Last season the division combined for 39 wins, the most of any division. It included two playoff teams, and the other two were teams in the hunt for a wildcard spot. Furthermore, the worst record in the division was 7-9, the average amount of wins between the other last place teams in the other seven divisions was 3.57 wins.
While last season this division was fantastic and very entertaining to watch, this season will be even better. After a busy offseason for every team, they all look to be even better than they were last year. Which, of course, is a win for every football fan.
As I mentioned, all four teams are very good, and there isn’t much separation between them. For the most part, the division will be decided by quarterback play. Now that’s it for all the “boring stuff”, let’s get into how these teams stack up in my power rankings of the NFC East, from worst to first.
