The New York Yankees go for the sweep tonight against the Kansas City Royals. Tonight is a must win situation for the Bombers.

New York Yankees baseball is entering a new era, but tonight’s game means more than most think.

In the last few years the Yanks have had trouble winning, for lack of a better term, winnable games. Tonight is a true test of a young team.

The Royals are one of the worst teams in baseball. For a team like the Yankees, they need this as a confidence booster.

A commonly overlooked theme nowadays is the idea of winning the easy games. Fans look toward the tough battles to gage their team’s success.

That is important, but it is more important to up your record with games you should win.

Recently there is always a doubt in a Yankee fan’s mind when taking on these mediocre teams. With this new youthful era, they have to set the precedent that they are here to win, and win big.

After a tough series against the Astros, the Yanks needed to bounce back. A series sweep against the Royals is exactly what they need.

They have to show the league that they won’t leave the door open for teams that are less talented.
