The New York Yankees had a tough go against the Houston Astros this weekend. They will look to rebound against the struggling Kansas City Royals.

The New York Yankees will try and get going this week against the lackluster Kansas City Royals.

The Royals have been one of baseball’s worst teams this season, and the Yankees have to take advantage of that.

Over their last ten games the Bombers went 6-4, and that’s not bad, but dropping three against the Astros hurt a lot. The losses exposed the Yankees pitching as their weakness, and it’s something that has to improve.

Masahiro Tanaka is the bane of the Yankees existence at the moment.

He had one of the worst outings of his career on Sunday, and he really needs to figure it out. If the Yankees want a chance to keep this magic going, they need to bounce back against the Royals.

The Royals are a consistent under.500 team, and the Yankees need to win a series like this. They have to win the games that are truly winnable in order to become a consistent top tier team in the MLB.

The Yankees will look for Aaron Judge to hit a stride in this series, as well as catcher Gary Sanchez. Sanchez has been struggling of late, and should look to a series like this to get hot.

It just takes a player a few good at bats to find his swing, and against such a mediocre staff, Sanchez ought to be licking his chops.

This series for the Yankees is huge to bounce back and stay atop the AL East. If they can kick of the series with a win tonight, it will be subject for another hot streak in New York. This is a sweepable series for the Yanks, so here’s to hoping they don’t waste it.
