After about a month of the season, BaseballAmerica.com recently ranked the top 100 prospects. How many prospects did the New York Yankees have in the top 100?

Coming into the 2017 season, the New York Yankees had one of the best farm systems in baseball. After trades made last season, the Yankees were able to help restock their farm system, and they now have one of the best in baseball.

With the Yankees playing well at the major league level, the future is also very bright in the minors. With Yoan Moncada being the No.1 prospect in baseball, the Yankees have to be excited that they have the second-best prospect in Gleyber Torres. Torres was the big acquisition by the Yankees in the Aroldis Chapman trade last season, and he has quickly shot up the prospect rankings.

After Torres, the Yankees also have outfielder Clint Fraizer in the Top 50. Fraizer was ranked 33rd on the list, and he was also acquired at the trade deadline last season. Soon after Frazier comes in Blake Rutherford, who was ranked 37th. With three prospects in the Top 50, the Yankees’ farm system is much better than we have seen in recent years.

To round out the list, the Yankees have three pitchers toward the bottom. Justus Sheffield was the first pitcher, as he was ranked 85th. After Sheffield comes Jordan Montgomery and Chance Adams, who were 99th and 100th.

Montgomery made the list because as of May 10th, he hasn’t thrown 50 innings in the majors. However, he has done well for the Yankees, and might not be considered a prospect in the next batch of rankings.

List of prospects from BaseballAmerica.com:

Gleyber Torres: 2nd

Clint Fraizer: 33rd

Blake Rutherford: 37th

Justus Sheffield: 85th

Jordan Montgomery: 99th

Chance Adams: 100th
