New York Yankees look to Complete Sweep against Cubs Tonight

The New York Yankees have taken two games from the Chicago Cubs. Tonight they look to complete the sweep.

The New York Yankees continue to prove that they are one of the best teams in baseball. After taking two games from one of the best young teams in baseball, the Bombers look to compete the sweep tonight.

The first two games of the series were polar opposites, but both were text book 2017 New York Yankees baseball. The game one comeback is something fans are accustomed to see from the Yankees, and the game two blowout is a glimpse of the future of this young team.

Looking to tonight, the Yankees offense isn’t the story. Tonight all the focus shifts onto the young pitcher out of the Dominican Republic, Luis Severino.

The young workhorse is coming off of a rough performance against the Blue Jays. He looks to bounce back on primetime television against one of the most electrifying lineups in baseball.

Severino is going to have to, for lack of a better term, show some cojones tonight  if he wants to get the win. The Yankees lineup is tops in the league, and lead by strong young core. If they can get it going tonight, it would really help a shaky starter in Severino.

Getting the sweep against last year’s World Series Champions would be a huge statement for the New York Yankees. Getting the job done on ESPN will show the baseball world that the Yankees are for real.

This season is already on a great track, but a win tonight against the Cubs would be huge. A win tonight would push the Yankees into an even bigger spotlight than they’ve been in all year.
