Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns selected Dragan Bender in the 2016 NBA Draft. He was compared by some people to Kristaps Porzingis during the draft process, so why not try and acquire Porzingis himself.

The Suns have some intriguing players on their roster, but most of them are in the backcourt. Point guard Eric Bledsoe is as good a defender in the backcourt as anyone. At shooting guard, the Suns have a star in the making in Devin Booker. Adding Porzingis to that backcourt duo would give the Suns a great core going forward.

Porzingis would have a good frontcourt running mate with Phoenix in Marquese Chriss. Chriss brings a lot of toughness to the court and could complement Porzingis well. Or, he could be in the package that the Knicks would look to get in return.

The Suns would make for an interesting trade partner for the Knicks. Their draft picks could be valuable in the future as they don’t look like they will be in the postseason for a few years. They also have some young players that would make an intriguing package for the Knicks to receive.

The surplus of talent the Suns have in the backcourt would be a good starting point in negotiations for the Knicks. The backcourt is arguably the weakest spot on the Knicks roster currently.
