Number One: New York Yankees (17-9)

It is the Aaron Judge show in New York, and fans are loving every second of it.

The 25-year-old rookie took home Rookie of the Month honors for April, and is continuing to stay hot through the early part of May. He has been an absolute beast, and has brought a spotlight back to New York Yankees baseball that hasn’t been there in years.

The Yanks continue to just win, and win in spectacular fashion. I said last week that the stretch of games before the next rankings would be huge for the Yankees, and they destroyed all expectations.

They look so good right now. They’re being lead by a strong rookie core, and the pitching has a been exponentially better than last year. The Yankees are without a doubt the hottest team in baseball, and they just keep looking better.

Baseball, dare I say it, is great again in New York. Aaron Judge is the savior the Yankees needed, and I still think comparing him to Jeter in a leader aspect is realistic. He is going to be a perennial All-Star in this league, and the Yankees are going to be a team that merits league-wide respect.
