Number Three: Boston Red Sox (15-12)

Well color me a liar… the Red Sox still sit at number three in the latest Power Rankings.

It seemed like Red Sox were poised to make a push last week, but just fell to live up to expectations. After a tough series against the New York Yankees, the Red Sox find themselves hovering just three games above .500.

There is so much to look forward to as a Boston Red Sox fan, but the team just isn’t giving it to them right now. They have underperformed throughout the first 30 games of the season.

The pitching that was supposed to be lights out can’t find a stride. The hitting is relatively decent, but isn’t as explosive as most thought. There is still time though for Boston to play catchup.

They have a ton of bright spots on this roster, and when they get going, it’ll be fun to watch. Maybe they won’t surge to the magnitude I thought they would, but they can give the top of the division a run for it’s money.
