Number Four: Tampa Bay Rays (14-15)

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to define mediocrity throughout the 2017 campaign.

There has been nothing different about this Rays team from the start of the season up until now. It’s hard to really give an update on this kind of team, but let’s give it a shot.

The Rays continue to take the fourth spot in the AL East Power Rankings, and it’s because they’re the classic middle-road team. They’re kind of like the shortbread cookie in your mom’s cupboard.  They are not going to disappoint, but they are also not going to wow anyone.

There is no telling if the Rays will get any better, or worse, but I don’t see them going higher than fourth on this list. It’s three weeks into the rankings, and they haven’t moved in either direction.

The Rays are not a team that is going to make a playoff push. No one is going to find them much higher than four this season on this list.

There is just too much talent at the top of this division for the Rays to climb out of the bottom.
