The New York Jets had a very strong 2017 NFL Draft. They were able to stockpile a lot of talented players as Mike Maccagnan worked his magic and pulled off a number of trades. Maccagnan traded down multiple times, netting the Jets a total of nine selections this year; he even added a fifth round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Jets doubled up on a position on three separate occasions in the draft. In the first two rounds, the Jets added safeties, selecting Jamal Adams from LSU and Marcus Maye from Florida. In the third round, the Jets added two wide receivers, nabbing ArDarius Stewart from Alabama and Chad Hansen from California.

It would happen once again in the sixth round as the Jets selected Michigan cornerback Jeremy Clark and Ole Miss cornerback/wide receiver Derrick Jones.

The Jets had three other picks in total. In Round 5 they selected twice, picking Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett and West Georgia defensive end Dylan Donahue. The Jets had another selection in Round 6, as they picked Louisiana-Lafayette running back Elijah McGuire before selecting the two cornerbacks.

The Jets added a lot of talent with their nine selections; they should have anywhere between two and four of these players starting this upcoming season. Some players should be on notice, as there will be a lot of jobs on the line during OTA’s and training camp.
