After a poor start to the month of April, the Atlanta Braves were able to have a strong final week. Coming into the final week of the month, the Braves were in last place in the NL East. After winning four games this past week, the Braves were able to jump the Mets in the standings.

Playing on the road was an issue for the Braves early on, but they were able to perform extremely well away from home this past week. Against the Mets to start the week, the Braves won two games in a row after being rained out on Tuesday. Following that series, the Braves won two out of three games against the Milwaukee Bucks.

One of the reasons for the strong week for the Braves was because of their offense. In their two wins against the Mets, the Braves scored a combined 15 runs. While that is an outstanding number, they scored a combined 21 in their two wins against the Brewers. Scoring that many runs will make it hard to lose many games.

Next week, the Braves will be back at home to start a lengthy homestand against the Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals. With the Mets banged up, this could be a good opportunity for the Braves to get closer to .500.
