It was another tough week for the New York Mets in the NL East. Where did they place in the power rankings after Week 4?

The 2017 season hasn’t gotten off to the start the New York Mets would have envisioned. Injuries have once again hurt the Mets early on, and they find themselves in last place in the NL East after the first month of the season.

While there is a lot of baseball left to play this season, the Mets aren’t trending in the right direction. Seeing the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, and Miami Marlins ahead of the Mets after one month in the standings is rather shocking.

With a logjam in the middle of the division, the Mets can quickly hop these teams in the coming weeks. However, the Washington Nationals have been able to separate themselves from the rest of the teams in the division early on.

After one month, the Nationals already have a five-game lead in the division. In the entire majors, this is the largest lead in any division in baseball so far. In addition to having a sizeable lead in the division already, the Nationals are also the only team in the NL East that has a record above .500.

With April in the rearview mirror, the NL East isn’t looking like a great division as of now. With four weeks in the books, here are the NL Power Rankings for this week. For the Mets, a fresh start in May can’t come soon enough.
