New York Giants Receive Low Mark in 2017 NFL Draft First Round Grades
By Nick Ziegler
That noise you just heard was the New York Jets war room. Mike Maccagnan and company had to be ecstatic when they came on the clock and saw Jamal Adams still sitting there. Adams is one of the best prospects in this year’s draft class and the Jets are more than happy to select him.
Just like when the Jets landed Leonard Williams in 2015, the Jets benefited from moves other teams made ahead of them. And, just like that year, the Jets land a player that no one believed would be there when they were selecting.
Adams can be a culture changer for the Jets. He was very productive at LSU and gives the Jets a very versatile player. He can play a number of different roles on the defense as he is capable of playing either safety spot. Where he really excels is against the run game.
Adams brings experience, leadership, pedigree, and production with him to the Jets. They should be very happy with this selection as they could have another building block on defense along with Leonard Williams.
