Jerry Reese has effectively missed again in the NFL Draft. This is perhaps the worst, and most useless pick the Giants have ever made. With the 23rd pick the New York Giants picked tight end out of Ole Miss, Evan Engram.

Giants fans should be heated about this. Big Blue passed on Reuben Foster, and he was the guy the Giants needed to become a contender. Engram isn’t a true tight end. He regularly lines up in the slot, and on the outside.

Yes, he is a matchup nightmare, but there is no reason to take him. At his size, he is just a slower Brandon Marshall. There is nothing but disappointment surrounding this pick for the New York Giants.

If the Giants wanted to go out and get a tight end, David Njoku from Miami was a better fit. Engram is not a blocker. He doesn’t address a single need in the Giants offense. The Giants needed a tight end that would help block with Ereck Flowers, instead they got another pass catcher. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s just a first round miss.
