B. . Safety. Colts. MALIK HOOKER

To be quite blunt, this is a good pick for the Indianapolis Colts. Malik Hooker is just a pure athlete with all of the intangibles of a great free safety.

The Ohio State product is the penultimate center fielder in this year’s draft, and the Colts need just that in their defense. He had seven interceptions this year, three of which got returned to paydirt. Hooker does struggle in the tackling department.

He shows prowess as a an NFL free safety, but just has to work on developing all phases of his game. He is stepping into a good situation in Indianapolis. Chuck Pagano has a knack for developing defensive backs into league leaders.

Pagano helped develop Vontae Davis into one of the league’s best corners, and he is set to make Hooker into an elite safety. Hooker isn’t NFL ready just yet, but this is a need pick for the Colts.

Hooker has a high upside, and could be a great safety in the league. Only time will tell whether or not this pick will turn into a great one for Indianapolis.
