Villanova Defensive End, Tanoh Kpassagnon

The Giants need depth along their defensive line. They relied heavily on Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon last season and need to find players to help rotate in behind them. One player, they could target in Round Three is Kpassagnon.

The Villanova product will be questioned by people based on his competition. He played in in the FCS, and is very raw as a player; he didn’t begin playing football until his junior year of high school. But, he has one of the highest ceilings in this year’s class and has the tools to develop into a starting defensive end in the NFL.

He needs refinement, but he has a lot of what scouts like. He has long arms, agility and quickness, upper body strength, and huge hands. He gives effort consistently and plays with physicality. He was dominant for Villanova last season, finishing with 21.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.

With Pierre-Paul and Vernon already in the fold the Giants can afford to bring Kpassagnon along slowly. There is no need to rush him, as they can develop him and use him situationally at the start. If coached well, he could develop into quite the pass rusher standing just under 6-feet-7 inches tall and weighing 289 pounds.
