The New York Rangers advanced to the second round of the NHL Postseason defeating the Montreal Canadiens in Round One, 4-2. They will now take on the Ottawa Senators, who defeated the Boston Bruins in Round One, 4-2.

In the regular season, the Rangers and Senators played three times. The Senators won the season series two games to one. The teams split the first two games of the season series at Madison Square Garden, with the Senators winning the first game and Rangers taking the second.

The Senators won the third game of the series on their home ice, but the Rangers rested a lot of players as their spot in the postseason was already clinched.

This series will be similar to the first one for the Rangers. The Senators aren’t a great offensive team with a defensive game plan. The difference is Carey Price isn’t between the pipes for the Senators, which should make things easier for the Rangers.

Special teams will be important in this series as well. The Rangers struggled on the power play against the Canadiens, but the Senators struggle to kill penalties. New York got lucky that special teams didn’t do them in in Round One; will they get lucky again in Round Two or pick things up?

There are a number of players that will impact that area of the game. Which players are they? Check out our slideshow of six players to watch for in the Round Two series between the Rangers and Senators.
