New York Jets Trade Down in Seven-Round Mock Draft
By Nolan Rich
An All-ACC selection with 129 tackles in his final collegiate season, Wilson could be a valuable inside linebacker in their 3-4 base. With David Harris getting long in the tooth and Darron Lee appearing to be a better outside and hybrid linebacker, New York could use another interior middle linebacker.
A slightly undersized linebacker, Wilson makes it up with his ability to drop back in coverage. A natural nose for the ball, Wilson would make an impact on special teams as he played in over 50% of Cincinnati’s special teams snaps even though he was a every down linebacker.
Solid backup with potential to eventually start but would be a versatile special teams player next season.
Undrafted free agent to watch:
Tarik Cohen: RB: North Carolina A&T
The Jets offense needs explosive weapons and Tarik Cohen is a small school prospect with tremendous upside.
Despite the size at 5’6 175 pounds, Cohen has 4.42 speed and ran for over 5,000 yards in college. The Jets do not have a highly explosive running back on the roster and Cohen could be a secret weapon as a running back especially in the screen game with his ability to make guys miss in the open field.

He won’t be an every down back, but if used like a Darron Sproles with limited touches and as a return man, Cohen could be an underrated weapon and game breaker the Jets offense has sorely missed.
