New York Giants 2017 NFL Draft is a Draft of Sleepers
The New York Giants need to have a bold strategy heading into tonight’s draft. There are big names across the board, but the best fits could be sleepers for Big Blue.
New York Giants football is branded with big names this season. From Odell Beckham Jr. to Brandon Marshall, the GMen are stacked with superstars, but the NFL Draft could spell a different story.
The Giants are going to have to make some draft moves that might turn some heads in order to win a Super Bowl this season.
There have been some decent big names going to the Giants in some mock drafts. Some have said Christian McCaffrey could fall to the Giants, and even OJ Howard has been rumored to go to Big Blue.
Just looking at the draft, there are two immediate names that haven’t gotten enough recognition. Try Jarrad Davis for one. The former Florida Gator is one of the best leaders in this draft. He has speed, his tackling ability is remarkable, and he went up against some of the NCAA’s best players in the SEC.
Davis would be a key fit in the Giants defensive scheme, but he isn’t talked about enough. He is the type of player that can bring a winning culture, and be a franchise player.
Another player not getting nearly enough publicity is D’onta Foreman of Texas. He’s a top three running back, in my opinion, and he’s getting pushed to the third round.
That is bananas.
Foreman deserves respect, but he isn’t going to get it, and that’s fine. The Giants can just take him in the second round, and build the backfield.
Next: New York Giants should look to Draft Texas RB D’onta Foreman
This year’s draft strategy should be to take a look at the quiet guys. They’ll be the difference in making the New York Giants Super Bowl contenders.
