The New York Giants have been one of the NFL Draft’s biggest question marks this year. NFL.com has the Giants now taking Miami(FL) TE David Njoku.

New York Giants fans have been taken on a whirlwind this offseason. From signing Brandon Marshall, to the mystery of the NFL Draft, it has been the definition of unpredictable.

In Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft for NFL.com, he says the Giants will take Miami TE David Njoku. Njoku is a Cedar Grove, NJ native, and will be a good fit in the Giants system.

The Giants don’t really need a tight end, and I’ve been saying it all offseason, but let’s entertain the idea for a second.

Njoku is a big-body tight end, and is a great pass catcher. Add him to an offense with tons of firepower, and it’s a recipe for success.

Over his last season in Miami, Njoku amassed 48 receptions for 698 yards, and eight touchdowns.

He is being compared to the likes of Jeremy Shockey, and Greg Olsen coming out of college. The Giants don’t need a tight end, but one like Njoku wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing to have.

The Giants offense is going to be one of the best in the league, and add a stud like Njoku, and  it’ll only get better. He had a very impressive combine, and is definitely a first round talent.

He ran a 4.64 40-yard dash, he posted a 37.5 inch vertical jump, and capped it with a 133 inch broad jump.

Njoku is an athletic option that would benefit the Giants offense greatly this season, but he might not be the option the Giants need.

Only time will tell if the Miami TE will suit up for Big Blue in 2017.
